Create a Migration Project
As a data owner, you can create a migration project to mask and move raw data assets.
Click Projects in the left navigation.
Click Create or Create a Project.
The Describe Your Project page appears.
Title—Enter a title for the project.
Description—Explain the goal of the project.
Purpose—Select the project purpose from the list of preapproved purposes. (Required)
The purpose identifies the intended use of the assets in the project. The purpose is one of the parameters used to match the data migration request.
Destination—Indicate the connection and dataset that the platform will use when it registers the masked (target) assets.
Destination Connection—Select a connection from the list of available connections.
Destination Dataset—Select a dataset from the list of available datasets.
Important
The dataset must either be unrestricted, or you must be the owner or a member of the dataset.
Expiration Date—Select whether migration of the data in the project expires and if so, select the expiration date.
By default, projects do not expire.
If you select an expiration date for this project, it will be inactive after that date, preventing migration of the data.
Tags—Select tags to assign to the project.
Use tags to identify the subject area of the project and to help facilitate search.
Note
If you cannot find a tag that matches your criteria, you can create a new tag. See Create a Tag.
Click Create.
A confirmation message appears.
Click Projects in the left navigation.
Click the Draft tab.
A list of projects in Draft status appears.
Click the name of the project that you just created.
The Project Details page appears.
Add raw assets to the project.
Submit the project for approval by a data guardian.
Note
Once you submit a project for approval, you cannot edit it.
