Deploy Big Data Management on AWS

You can integrate Qubole with a deployment of Big Data Management in the AWS cloud environment or in an on-premises environment.
If you want to implement a cloud deployment of Big Data Management, perform the following steps to deploy Big Data Management on AWS:
  1. In the same subnet of the AWS VPC where you plan to create the Qubole cluster, create an Amazon EC2 instance to host the Informatica domain.
    When you create an EC2 instance, you choose from among the available EC2 instance types. For the domain VM, Informatica recommends a minimum of 64 GB RAM and a 16-core CPU. The m4.4xlarge instance type fulfills these requirements.
  2. Configure the domain VM to be a member of the same security group as Qubole.
  3. Upload the Big Data Management license and Informatica binaries to the domain EC2 instance, and run the big data installer.
  4. Apply the Qubole enablement patch EBF-16050 to Informatica domain and client machines.
    To enable support for Qubole, Big Data Management requires you to apply the patch on each of the EC2 instances that host Informatica domain and client nodes.
