QUIESCE Command

QUIESCE Command

Stops the DB2 for z/OS ECCR after the ECCR reaches a point in the DB2 log where no in-flight UOWs exist.
Use the QUIESCE command before performing a required cold start, for example, when migrating to a new DB2 version or upgrading PowerExchange. On a busy DB2 subsystem, quiesce processing might take a long time.
If you need to stop the ECCR immediately, use the MVS STOP command.

Syntax

Use the following command syntax:
QUIESCE
Or use the following shorter syntax:
QU
To issue the ECCR QUIESCE command, use the MVS MODIFY or F command with the ECCR started task or job name.
