Summary Task Flow

Summary Task Flow

To configure and start a new PowerExchange Express CDC for Oracle environment, complete the following
high-level
tasks:
  1. Configure Oracle for CDC.
    Use the sample SQL in the ora_orad.sql file that PowerExchange provides. For more information, see Configuring Oracle for CDC.
  2. Configure PowerExchange for CDC.
    For more information, see Configuring PowerExchange for CDC.
  3. Configure the PowerExchange Logger for Linux, UNIX, and Windows.
    Use of the PowerExchange Logger is optional but strongly recommended. For information about configuring and starting the PowerExchange Logger, see Configuring the PowerExchange Logger and Starting the PowerExchange Logger.
  4. Configure a CDC restart point.
    For more information, see Creating Restart Tokens for Extractions.
  5. Materialize the target tables.
  6. Start the PowerExchange Logger.
  7. Create PowerCenter CDC workflows that include the Express CDC source tables.
    Use an Oracle CDC application connection. For more information, see the
    PowerExchange Interfaces for PowerCenter
    publication.
  8. Cold start the workflows.
