Rules and Guidelines for Icons

Rules and Guidelines for Icons

Use the following rules and guidelines when you create icons:
  • All icons that you use must measure 16 x 16 pixels. Metadata Manager does not scale icons.
  • You do not have to specify an icon for the model. If you do not specify an icon, Metadata Manager uses the custom model icon ( green square with two yellow child squares ) for the model and for all resources that are based on the model.
  • You cannot remap a group or class to a different image file or file type. For example, if the Dimension class is mapped to dimension.gif, you cannot remap it to 3D_dimension.gif or to dimension.png.
  • You do not have to add an image file for every group and class to the icon directory. If a group or class has no image file, Metadata Manager uses the class icon ( blue circle with white letter "C" ) for the group or class.
